Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - It was an oncampus process. After performing all 3 rounds satisfactorily, HR was happy and she asked about my location preference for joining the job. I was quite happy and satisfied untill i saw that they selected only 4 people and i was not there. HR was such a dumb that she was not letting those guys who left to attend their other interviews to proceed for further rounds. I left my other interviews to put my all focus on getting selected and eventually found that they selected 4 people (out of which 1 was quite dumb and does not deserve the selection). So yeah ! Luck plays a vital role. But never lose your hope, your efforts will surely pay you once !

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: There was a GD based on a case study.

Round: technical interview
Experience: The interview was based mainly on resume. They asked one question on Econometrics and one question on Microeconomics apart from the resume description. From resume they asked mainly about the projects and internships. Overall it was a great experience for a first job interview.

General Tips: Do’s and Don’ts :
1. Take 4-5 printouts of your resume before going for interview. Have a notepad and a pen with you in a folder along with the resume prints.
2. Don’t be frustrated. Always remember that there is a company meant for you. Now, it is possible that it may come on day 1 or day 7 or even later. Always keep faith and believe in yourself.
3. If you are placed and some of your friends are still in the process, support them and do help them in preparation. Moral support is very important in tough times. Don’t go home immediately once you are placed but stay here for a few extra days. This would mean a lot to them.
4. Sleep well during the placement season. You should sleep for at least 5-6 hours.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: Group of 16 people, the discussion was a bit chaotic so I had to look out for a chance to speak and capitalize on it. Speaking too much won't help rather speak sensible, there were people who just spoke once and were shortlisted.
Having knowledge about various companies helped me lot in putting good examples.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: I did not know answers to most of the questions but they wanted to check my thought process, how logically I can answer the question. They wanted those candidates who would go for an MBA after working for 3-4 years with them, some questions on my family background. At the end again how confident you are with your answers is all what matters.
