Technical Interview

Interview Experience

I have applied through a website and after around a month's time I got call for the first round. The First round of interview was by a Manager in Data Sciences Group and it was a easy one.I felt they just wanted to filter out candidates , Hence asked easy questions. They were two questions form C programming, Data Structures and two questions in Final year project and followed by two puzzles. Being a preliminary round these questions were pretty simple and I could answer all the questions correctly

Technical Interview

Interview Experience

It took more than a month after 1st round to get a call for second round. This round was taken by a Senior Director in Speech Sciences team which was my major area. This round was more technical and most of the questions were focused on the Speech processing and on the analytics project I have done as a part of my Internship. My final year project was in Image processing (Super Resolution from Single image) so there were many questions from my project regarding the algorithms I used and the way I proceeded towards results, My current progress and what am I going to do in next step. They were pretty much clear in their questions, But I was confused by the time and couldn't answer some questions. Over all it was good and I was hoping for the call for next round

Technical Interview

Interview Experience

Within two days after my second round I got a call for third round which was pretty much technical and mostly concentrated on Machine learning, Probability,Statistics. I was not that great at Machine learning ( I just knew few basic algorithms which I have learnt from Coursera.org). As a part of my final year project I implemented a some Machine learning algorithms that I explained very clearly and made a very good impression on the interviewer. There were many questions regarding the limitations of the algorithms I implemented and Why did I choose that for that algorithm, the practical applications of my final year project . Next, there were questions from probability and statistics. Then they had given me a problem and asked me to solve that. But they mostly concentrated on the approach I am using rather than the final result. They have guided me if I was struck somewhere in solving that problem. Over all a very good technical round I ever had. Finally with their help I could solve the problem they had given me. I was confident of getting an offer now.Because the interview was good

HR Interview

Interview Experience

It was a formality round. They just asked me about my goals, passion , interests and career plans and expected salary which I told was less than they usually offer for that profile. I was feeling bad for doing that. But to my surprise they had offered more than what I demanded. I was pretty much happy for that

Overall Experience

As I mentioned after each round, Be clear on points you mention in your resume and Be sure to grab the clues provided by them in the interview.

Technical Interview

Interview Experience

It was a 30-45 minutes interview. Part of the interview was focused on my CV - i.e. projects and internships. Next, they tested my knowledge of a (any one) programming language, which was pretty thorough. Towards the end, they asked about a few small; simple stuff like 'reversing a string' and 'detecting cycles in a linked list.‟ Do not bluff if you do not know an answer. Try deducing it from counter questions

Technical Interview

Interview Experience

This was a 45 minute interview focusing solely on algorithms. Most people got only 1 problem to solve. For 30 minutes, they made us work through the problems. If solved correctly, they asked a few simple puzzles at the end

Overall Experience

Though open to all, they were looking for people with strong background in development, particularly web development. Courses in algorithms and database systems definitely help.
