Round: Technical Interview
Experience: This was the telephonic round and it lasted for about 10 minutes. Questions were rapid but it went smooth.
Tips: Be confident and don't fumble.

Round: Technical + HR Interview
Experience: This was a skype interview which lasted for 10 mins. it was rigorous and intense.
Tips: Be confident

Round: Stress Interview
Experience: This was a skype interview and was intense.

Round: HR Interview

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: The interviewer narrated the following situation to us, "Suppose you have either access to unlimited amount of money or a choice to have one true love, what you'll choose"

I took the initiative to start the GD. I guess its really important to try and start the GD. Then i also focused on what others are saying, and answered them accordingly.
Tips: Start the GD
Don't unnecessarily scream. Listening is also important.
Duration: 5 minutes

Round: Test
Experience: The HCL aptitude is a technical aptitude that is hosted by AMCAT ans is really similar to the aptitudes of Wipro and Aricent. You have 2 and a half hours test, with no negative marking and 4 sections.
I have uploaded  the material my friends used to prepare for the test here.Remember this is not the new pattern it has been mentioned in the previous post(Post name:ARICENT, WIPRO, HCL AMCAT APTITUDE), but the questions here have been repeated in some cases and provide useful insight into the kind of questions asked.I can guarantee that you will pass 2012 aptitude if you study these questions:

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: This is a tech interview, before we had to fill a forum containing information about you and your interests. This is an easy round to crack if you know all the basics here are some questions asked: What are the IPC Mechanism available? Illustrate with example .What is structure and union in c? Write the code and explain how they are storing in the memory?They will ask to write one c program ? Explain the data structure (code) for the data structuresi) Double link listii) Minimum spanning treev) Reverse the link list,Difference between malloc and calloc?.Write a program in macro in c?.Write a simple MFC program to create a window? (They asked me to write a program to create a window).Tell about the existing scheduling algorithm?.What are all E.F Codd rule?.What is bit slice processor?. What is a deadlock? explain it?.What is virtual memory.What is circuit switching and packet switching.What is the significance of friend keyword in C++?.Different types of inheritance.Do u want to ask anything from us? Difference between routing protocol and routed protocol. Ethernet frame format,How type casting is performed in CMy friends mentioned that they weren’t given an option on programming language only C was asked

Round: HR Interview
Experience: These is your typical HR interview questions, easy stuff. It is oriented towards technology,team spirit and adaptability.In my college though some of the HR interviews were more tech like say a tech/HRHere are some samples:1.Tell about yourself?2. What are all your hobbies?3.Why did u prefer your area of interest?4.Why do u wanna be in HCL?5.Why did u choose Mechanical?6.How interview is going on?7.Some general technical qp from ur area of interest?8. How’ll u react if u r assigned in the non area of interest? (adaptability)9. How’re getting information abt the company?(weightage is given for communicating with the seniors)10.In which project do u want to work in HCL?11.Do u want to ask anything from us?They read out the names of those selected and leave :

Round: Test
Experience: Section 1 was quant. It was very simple. Practice basic questions
Logical reasoning and English sections were slightly tough than quantitative.Overall aptitude was simple and easy to pass
Tips: Try to attempt all questions because there is no negative marking.
Duration: 60 minutes
Total Questions: 60

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: Spoke about the Haryana district with the live examples of two sisters Geeta Kumari and Babita Kumari, who won gold medals in wrestling.
Also mentioned about Saina Nehwal.
Basically I agreed that India is not a mail dominant country.
Tips: Give examples as much as you can, examples portray how well you understand the topic. The examples should be about recent happenings
It also shows how much are you aware about the current scenario.
Stick to one side, if you are speak the first point for the topic, that is "India is a male dominant country" then don't go against this during the second point
No of times you speak, also matters.
Duration: 20-25mins minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: I didn't answer 2 questions, it is fine if you don't answer the question rather than making the interviewer fool
Tips: Prepare core subjects very well
Be prepared to answer the last question, it shows your interest in the company

Round: HR Interview
Experience: It was my third company in campus. So the first question was surely expected, and I was prepared for that. If you clear the technical round then the ball is in your court. You can ace the HR round.
Tips: Just be yourself. Be prepared with basic  HR questions.

Round: Paragraph writing
Experience: Topic - Effect of public holidays on Indian economy
Tips: Write atmost one page.3/4th page is also fine.

Skills: Programming , Communication Skills, Database Skills
