Role Summary:
This position is responsible for establishing handling Technical Compliance of the Quality Assurance and Quality control, Verification of IPQA, QC results, training the team and verifying the systems of quality control are in place.
The Head of Technical Quality Compliance drives the company's quality strategy, ensuring products meet regulatory standards, customer expectations, and global food safety requirements. This role leads supplier quality, risk management, and operational excellence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. As part of the leadership team, it collaborates with executives, regulators, and partners to make quality a competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
-Support to Quality Control
- Review Quality Control Process
- Team training and calibration of Rice Analyst
- Technical review of Rice analyst and trained the team for requirement
- Plan & conduct trainings on Grain & Smell Observation
- Variance analysis between site and lab and action plan to mitigate the variance
- Provide technical inputs on Quality management systems, retention and improvement through implementation of Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle.
- Maintain and develop Sample library for pure varieties, shipment samples and also samples used at different point of time for research and quality purpose.
Quality Management System:
- Annual verification of suppliers, rating as per agreed in TQM Project.
- Documentation review of Lab operation
- Review the documentation against QMS & FSMS requirements.
- Updating documents as required against GFSI requirement.
- Maintain thorough documentation of inspections, testing, and QMS activities
- Verification of Quality control process at suppliers, verify the inspecting team.
R&D Activity:
- Grains and Blends R&D activity and documentation
- Developing Specifications of all brands in alignment with Mayar foods. If any changes required due to the crop variation it will be done accordingly
- Gather the knowledge from research institutes, as well as from seed companies about the new varieties for coming years, planning their trials in the compliance lab and with Mayar foods.
- Conduct research on international emerging best practices in Quality Assurance of rice.
Supplier Integration:
- Address quality-related concerns from suppliers, ensuring prompt resolution of complaints and queries.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for complaints and implement corrective actions (CAPA), documenting results.
- Coordination with key stakeholders for timely resolution and closure of complaints and deviation raised.
Business Excellence:
- Maintaining and updating dashboard for QC activities with deliverables aligned as per KPI
- Problem solving tools training and implementation within QC team
- Process establishment for defining center lining can be performed stating the parameters, criteria, and enablers required
- CTQ (Critical to Quality) defining, measurement and improvement.
Key Result Areas (KRAs):
- Carry analysis of site vs head office lab vs compliance lab and quantify the training requirements for each analyst.
- Maintain the data of verification & QMS activities. activities.
- Timely training and calibration of QC team, every year before commencement of rice season and if identified during the season lack in results.
- Dashboard Management and reporting to management
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for complaints and implement corrective actions (CAPA), documenting results.
- Timely closure of complaints, deviation and NC raised with supplier
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless integration of SOPs and compliance processes.
- Develop and implement comprehensive food safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry's best practices.
