Medical Transcriptionist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Transcriptionist to join the medical team of a leading Joint Replacement Surgeon. Who should understand medical language. The selected candidate will play a vital role in helping making prescriptions for patients and explaining them in simple language, transcribing and organizing audio recordings, operative notes and dictations into well-structured written documents.

Role & responsibilities

• Transcribe medical dictations, surgical notes, and academic discussions accurately and efficiently.
• Assist in preparing and formatting prescriptions.
• Coordinate closely with the Joint Replacement Research Fellow and Head of Department to ensure clinical accuracy and relevance of transcribed materials.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with ethical standards in handling patient and research data.
• Proofread and edit transcriptions for grammar, consistency, and technical accuracy.
• Maintain organized records of all transcribed files and research drafts.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline. Background in life sciences or healthcare will be an advantage.
• Prior experience in medical transcription, preferably in orthopaedics or surgical specialties.
• Strong grasp of medical terminology related to joint replacement and orthopaedics.
• Proficiency in English with excellent typing and editing skills.
• Familiarity with formatting styles used in medical journals and research papers.
• Female candidates with relevant experience will be preferred.
