Head - Supply Chain Management (7-22 yrs)

Summary:

This Leadership role has been created primarily to Oversee Strategic Sourcing in an Automotive Tier-1 company, which has demonstrated consistent growth over the past three decades.

Key Responsibilities:

- To develop the framework and the long-term road map for the Strategic Sourcing Department.

- Leverage your strategic sourcing expertise to develop a risk mitigation plan and address any residual risks during the setup process of your strategic sourcing department.

- Focus on building long-term strategic sourcing capabilities across the organization that leverage opportunities for business growth.

- Set the Long-Term sourcing strategy that provides the foundation for Driving growth and profit targets of the Organisation.

- Addressing complex challenges related to strategic direction, business alignment, and supplier performance.

- Create a pool of suppliers utilizing top-quality and advanced manufacturing technologies (Future Model) to consistently meet ongoing customer demands.

- Negotiate contracts to secure favourable terms and conditions for the company.

- Verify and approve Supplier Capabilities to meet DBR and CCPM demands.

- Possess a robust process-oriented approach to Supplier development and management.

- Lead cost-saving efforts by conducting thorough cost analysis and benchmarking to secure competitive pricing, proficient in Activity-Based Costing.

- Use your expertise and detailed understanding of the manufacturing processes of Forgings, Casting, Steel, and Machining to scope out the advanced technologies in these commodities globally and forge partnerships with the identified suppliers.

- Identify New Generation Technologies for the earlier mentioned key commodities and suppliers and work closely with R&D, NPD, Manufacturing teams to ensure faster turnaround on New Products with advanced technologies and cost-effective proposals to customers.

Qualification / Requirements from Candidate Applying for this role:

- Must be a Full time Graduate Engineer Preferably from Premiere Colleges (NIT, IIT, BITS, etc.) is ideal.

- Post-Graduation MBA from Premiere Institutes like IIM, ISB, etc. would be an added advantage.

- Minimum 20 + Years of Experience, out of which at least 7+ years of experience should be in a strategic sourcing role with an Auto Tier -1.

- Proven track record of understanding the pains and challenges of dealing with Entrepreneurial / Family managed suppliers is essential for this role.

- Breadth and Depth of Automotive Product Knowledge including but not limited to working closely with departments like R&D, NPD, Manufacturing, Quality and successfully leveraging your strategic sourcing experience in ensuring faster TATs on Future Products.

- Excellent Understanding of Domestic supply base and Global sourcing.

- Familiarity with Design & Development approach for BOP components, exposure to automotive standards.

- Significant Strong leadership skills & experience is required, including strategic sourcing approaches and comprehensive financial and budgetary competence in sourcing financials.

- Must have extensive knowledge of commodities and components, including understanding configurations, applications, specifications, BOM, and manufacturing processes.

- Manufacturing Process understanding includes trending technologies in Forging (Cold & Hot Forging), Casting (SG Iron & Aluminium), Steel, Bearings, Machining, Sheet Metal, Surface Treatment, Plastics.

- Strong problem solving & analytical skills and strong in CCPM, CCR, DBR, Throughput Accounting.

- Knowledge on the pricing of similar products /solutions of international range of suppliers.
