Technical Writer (1-5 yrs)

Job Description :

Responsibilities :

Create, develop, plan, write, and edit operational, instructional, maintenance, or test procedures for various formats, including :

- Paper-based publications

- Multimedia resources

- Web-based platforms

- User sites

- Embedded user assistance systems

- Conduct interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs), technical staff, and users to gather accurate and up-to-date information for documentation.

- Research and translate complex technical information into clear and concise user manuals, guides, and web-based documents for both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Document engineering processes and specifications to ensure clarity and consistency.

- Recommend and implement formatting styles that cater to the specific needs of both technical audiences and general users.

- Ensure all documentation adheres to company style guides, documentation standards, and quality assurance (QA) procedures.

- Utilize version control systems (like Git) and collaborative knowledge management platforms (like Confluence) to manage and track documentation effectively.

- Leverage Markdown for efficient and clear content creation.

- Possess a good understanding of HTML and CSS for formatting and styling web-based documentation (optional).

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

- Experience in technical writing or a related field.

- Proven ability to create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for diverse audiences.

- Excellent research and information gathering skills.

- Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to translate them into easy-to-understand language

- Familiarity with version control systems (like Git) and collaborative knowledge management platforms (like Confluence).

- Working knowledge of Markdown for content creation.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good to have :

- Experience with API documentation

- Experience with single-sourcing tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, Adobe RoboHelp)

- Experience with creating multimedia content (e.g., videos, screenshots)
