Role & responsibilities

• Qualified Chartered Accountant **

* Experience

Must

• Post qualification experience of 3-6 years in the field of tax compliance
• Should have been involved in the preparation of submission & appeals in connection with the assessment & appellate proceedings for atleast for 1-2 years
• Good understanding of the Indian tax laws

* Knowledge and Expertise required

Must

• Sound technical knowledge of domestic Direct tax laws incl. withholding taxes and relevant jurisprudence
• Working knowledge of accounting and audit, including tax audit
• Preparation and Filing of assessment submissions/appeals and co-ordination with consultants
• Good working knowledge and experience in ERP system environment (SAP) and MS word / excel / power point

* Job description

• Compliance (Indicative only)
• Providing the requisite support in timely filing of various Tax Returns
• Collation of information in connection with Tax audits
• Collation of information in connection with the Corporate tax assessments and preparing submissions for filing with the tax office
• Computation of advance tax, withholding taxes and other corporate income tax matters
• Playing a pro-active role in the timely completion of tax compliances of the group entities in overseas jurisdictions
• Representation and Interface with Tax Dept. and Agencies
• To represent before the Tax Authorities for assessments, tax clearances, on need basis
• To manage day to day interface with various Govt. offices for Direct taxes, as required
• Planning and Advisory
• Playing a key supporting role on providing timely advice on tax amendments and initiation of necessary steps to comply with the requirements
• Co-ordination and liaisoning with tax consultants for tax compliance and planning

Desirable

• Basic understanding of the Transfer Pricing provisions
• Exposure to taxation of key overseas jurisdictions
• Good understanding of the tax treaties entered into by India with other countries
• Sound commercial understanding
• Working knowledge on international taxation matters incl. tax treaties incl. withholding taxes
