Roles & Responsibilities -

• Conduct supplier audits (process/product audits) focusing on die casting and machining capabilities. Evaluate and qualify new suppliers using APQP/PPAP methodologies. Monitor and improve supplier performance using KPIs (PPM, delivery, NCR, etc.).
• Ensure suppliers comply with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements. Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier-related quality issues (8D, 5Why, Ishikawa). Oversee incoming quality inspection protocols for die cast and machined components.
• Collaborate with design, production, and procurement teams to ensure quality standards in new product development.
• Review and approve supplier PPAPs, FMEAs, and control plans.
• Provide technical support in die casting defects (e.g., porosity, shrinkage) and machining issues (e.g., tolerances, surface finish).
• Work with suppliers to optimize process controls and reduce variability.
• Implement supplier improvement plans and monitor progress.
• Support cost reduction initiatives through quality and process improvements at supplier locations.
  

• EXPERTISE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 6 to 8 years of experience in supplier quality, with significant exposure to die casting and machining processes.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, and problem-solving tools.
• Proficiency in using quality tools like CMM, height gauge, surface testers, etc.
• Experience with automotive standards (IATF 16949, VDA 6.3) is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel to supplier locations as needed.
