Assurant - DevOps Engineer - Cluster Management (5-8 yrs)

As a DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with DevOps/SRE Architects to deploy, secure, and optimize DevOps pipelines and Kubernetes clusters in a highly secure on-premises environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Kubernetes Cluster Deployment & Management.

- Deploy and maintain multi-node Kubernetes clusters on RHEL-based environments.

- Implement TLS and HTTPS-based security for Kubernetes services.

- Manage RBAC, Network Policies, and Pod Security Policies (PSP) for security.

- Troubleshoot Kubernetes deployments, networking, and performance issues.

CI/CD Pipeline Development & Automation :

- Develop, maintain, and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines for on-prem application deployments.

- Implement ArgoCD, Helm, and Kustomize for managing Kubernetes manifests.

- Automate blue-green and canary deployments for seamless updates.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Configuration Management :

- Implement and maintain Terraform & Ansible-based automation for provisioning bare-metal, VMs, and Kubernetes clusters.

- Automate server configurations, package installations, and system hardening.

- Manage on-prem infrastructure using IaC best practices.

Security & Compliance for On-Prem Infrastructure :

- Enforce zero-trust security principles for DevOps infrastructure.

- Implement container security scanning (Trivy, Clair, AquaSec) and vulnerability patching.

- Integrate SAST & DAST tools into CI/CD pipelines.

- Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, SOC2, and internal security policies.

Observability & Incident Response :

- Set up Prometheus & Grafana for monitoring Kubernetes clusters, applications, and system resources.

- Manage centralized logging using ELK/EFK stack.

- Troubleshoot issues related to containerized applications, deployments, and networking.

- Assist in defining incident response playbooks to minimize downtime.

Collaboration & Documentation :

- Work closely with SRE Architects, Developers, and Security Teams.

- Maintain proper documentation for Kubernetes configurations, CI/CD pipelines, and security policies.

- Continuously improve automation processes to enhance reliability.

Key Skills & Technologies :

Must-Have :

- Kubernetes (K8s) & RHEL-based Clusters.

- GitLab CI/CD : Automating builds, testing, and deployments.

- Terraform & Ansible : Infrastructure automation and configuration management.

- ArgoCD & Helm : GitOps and Kubernetes package management.

- Prometheus & Grafana : Monitoring, alerting, and observability.

- ELK/EFK Stack : Logging and log analytics.

- Network Security & Load Balancing : Nginx, Traefik.

- Security Best Practices : RBAC, TLS, HTTPS, SAST, DAST.

Good-to-Have :

- Experience with multi-data center on-premises setups.

- Familiarity with service mesh technologies (Istio/Linkerd).

- Hands-on experience with backup & disaster recovery.

- Knowledge of on-prem storage & virtualization solutions (VMware, Proxmox, Bare Metal).

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.

- 5-8 years of experience in on-premises DevOps or SRE roles.

- Hands-on experience in Kubernetes cluster setup and automation.

- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and security.

- Experience in automating deployments, system configurations, and monitoring.

- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills.
