We are looking for a Member Technical Staff [MTS] to join our athenahealth Clinicals Engineering team within our athenahealth Clinicals division.

You are an engineer with experience building full stack web applications You are an excellent communicator capable of quickly picking up the complicated healthcare domain. You are a tenacious yet nimble learner who demonstrates design and engineering excellence.

The Team: athenahealth Clinicals - the clinicals team builds code that matters, working on the beating heart of doctors workflows that is used by over 100,000+ healthcare providers daily. We build the interface that makes the interactions between these providers and the electronic health record as seamless as possible, and elevates what the doctor needs to see, when they need to see it. This team is innovative, passionate, and driven by our mission to help make an impact.

Job Responsibilities

Cross functional collaboration with leads and senior devs for understanding tasks and requirements.

Develop robust code, carefully considering security, performance, longevity, and testing

Write, debug, and deploy code to production; deliver timely fixes

Adhere to DOD (story definition of done) as part of the sprint, including unit tests, functional testing, code reviews, bug fixes, and documentation

Creating unit, functional, and integration test cases for maintaining the quality of the product

Delivering tasks with minimum supervision.

Technical problem-solving skills.

Continually learn modern technologies in related areas.

Typical Qualifications

1. Educational Background:

o Bachelor s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

2. Experience:

o 3-5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on both front-end and back-end technologies.

o Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments is often preferred.

3. Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks for both front-end and back-end development.

Back-End Technologies

1. Languages:

o Java: Highly proficient in Java with frameworks like Spring Boot and Spring modules (security, modulith, etc).

o Perl: Knowledge of Perl will have an added advantage.

2. Databases:

o SQL Databases: Experience with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.

o NoSQL Databases: Knowledge of NoSQL databases like Dynamodb ,Redis.

3. APIs:

o Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL APIs.

o Understanding of API authentication and authorization methods (e.g., OAuth, JWT).

4. Cloud platforms:

o Familiarity with cloud providers like aws/ azure/google. Knowledge of aws has an added advantage

5. Version Control Systems:

o Proficiency in using Git for version control, including understanding of branching, merging, and pull requests.

o Familiarity with platforms like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket for repository hosting and collaboration.

Front-End Technologies

1. Languages:

o JavaScript: Highly proficient in development using JavaScript

o HTML: Knowledge of designing interfaces with HTML.

o CSS: Good understanding of usage of CSS in designing webpages.

2. Frameworks and Libraries:

o Experience with building user interfaces using React.js/Angular.js/Vue.js
