Birlasoft - SAP ABAP Consultant (4-8 yrs)

Key Responsibilities :

- ABAP Development: Develop, implement, and maintain custom ABAP programs, including BADI, User Exits, and background programs.

- S/4HANA Upgrade Projects: Actively participate in SAP S/4HANA upgrade projects with a focus on ABAP development, including retrofit and upgrade process awareness.

- ODATA Services: Design, create, implement, and maintain ODATA services.

- Troubleshoot issues by analyzing error logs and fixing identified problems.

- CDS Views: Work on Core Data Services (CDS) for data modeling and integration with ABAP, ensuring optimized data retrieval and efficient performance.

- REST API: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless integration and communication between systems.

- Embedded & Hub Deployment: Implement solutions in both embedded and hub deployment scenarios, ensuring proper configuration and ODATA batching.

- Performance Tuning: Conduct debugging and performance tuning for ABAP programs, optimizing code for efficiency and accuracy.

- SAP Change and Transport Management: Manage change and transport processes within SAP, ensuring smooth deployments and minimal downtime.

- IDOC Framework: Configure, customize, and troubleshoot IDOC processes, ensuring smooth integration across modules.

- SAP Service Marketplace: Utilize SAP Notes (OSS Notes) to address and resolve issues, keeping up with the latest SAP updates and recommendations.

Required Skills :

- Strong experience in SAP S/4 ABAP, including OOABAP (Object-Oriented ABAP).

- Proficiency in Core Data Services (CDS) and ODATA architecture.

- Understanding of SAP Upgrade Projects, including retrofit and transport management.

- Strong exposure to REST API development and deployment.

- Hands-on experience with ABAP Function Modules, BAPI, Customer-Exits, and BADI.

- Deep knowledge of ALE/IDOC framework for troubleshooting and monitoring.

- Strong skills in debugging, performance tuning, and SAP Transport System.

- Experience with SAP Data Dictionary objects (Tables, Views, Data elements).

- S/4HANA project exposure is essential.

Nice-to-Have :

- Certification in SAP ABAP or S/4HANA.

- Prior experience in SAP embedded analytics or other S/4HANA-related modules
