About the Role :

We are looking for a Lead-Azure Data Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our team for one of UK's most well-known clients.

You will use various methods to transform raw data into useful data systems.

Overall, youll strive for efficiency by aligning data systems with business goals.

To succeed in this data engineering position, you should have strong analytical skills and the ability to combine data from different sources.

Data engineer skills also include familiarity with several programming languages and knowledge of learning machine methods.

Responsibilities :

- Design and build modern data pipelines and data streams.

- Move / Transform data across layers (Bronze, Silver, Gold) using ADF, Python, PySpark.

- Analyse current business practices, processes and procedures and identify future opportunities for leveraging Microsoft Azure data & analytics PaaS services.

- Support the planning and implementation of data platform services including sizing, configuration, and needs assessment.

- Implement effective metrics and monitoring processes.

- Work as a trusted advisor to our clients.

Requirements :

- Minimum 3+ years of experience with ADF, Databricks, PySpark, SQL.

- Strong conceptual understanding of data warehouse.

- Excellent communication skills, highly proficient in process workflows and documentation, and possess strong experience in data testing across multiple environments.

- Demonstrating strong leadership qualities with the ability to drive the team, ensure accountability, and deliver results efficiently.

- Understanding of data modelling and SQL.

- Experience with building and deploying ETL/ELT pipelines.

- DevOps integration of data pipelines.

- Hands-on experience with modern data storage systems (e.ADLS, Synapse).

- Experience with DevOps, Continuous Delivery.

- Good conversion of high-level business & technical requirements into technical specs.

- Feeling comfortable in using Azure cloud technologies.
