DevOps Engineer - Apache Kafka Platform (5-6 yrs)

Ex- 5 y

Mandatory skill : kafka, api,terraform.

DevOps competencies to support run-operations, design, deploy, life cycle management, SRE, and self-service automations to achieve the objectives towards infrastructure as a code for this Apache Kafka Platform.

There is a need for two Platform Engineers to be located offshore in India, who must be open for on-call support fulfilling above commitments towards our platform consumers and collaborate with their application developers. Thereby lay a foundation for transitioning this Kafka platform service to a small size Bought Service engagement from offshore India at a subsequent time with an existing preferred partner.

Technical Skills :

- 5+ years of experience in Kafka administration, DevOps, SRE practices.

- Strong expertise in Kafka architecture, internals, and tuning.

- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE) and Kafka operators (Strimzi).

- Experience with Terraform, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or Golang) for automation.

- Experience in using monitoring/logging tools : Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK, OpenTelemetry.

- Knowledge of Kafka ecosystem tools : MirrorMaker 2.0, Kafka Streams, ksqlDB, Schema Registry.

- Good understanding of networking, DNS, service meshes, and Kubernetes security best practices.

Soft Skills & Evangelism Abilities :

- Passion for teaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing across teams.

- Strong communication skills able to explain Kafka concepts to non-experts.

- Ability to lead internal Kafka meetups, write technical blogs, and create educational materials.

- A proactive problem-solver and influencer who can drive Kafka adoption across the company.

- Ability to collaborate with developers, data engineers, and leadership teams
