As a promoter-led organization, we are looking to hire a seasoned HR leader who combines strategic thinking with operational execution, and can build a robust people-first culture aligned with the organizations growth ambitions.
Role Objective
The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) will be a core member of the leadership team, responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive people strategy across corporate, project sites, and regional offices. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping a culture of discipline, ethics, accountability, and collaboration, while building systems that attract, retain, and develop top-tier talent from the infrastructure sector.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Define and implement the HR vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business goals
- Act as a key advisor to promoters and senior leadership on organizational development, talent strategy, and change management
- Lead strategic initiatives around workforce planning, capability building, succession management, and employee engagement
Organization Culture & Values
- Champion a performance-oriented and ethically strong culture
- Foster a culture of mutual respect, ownership, and quality consciousness at all levels
- Balance legacy systems with new-age thinking while aligning to promoter expectations
Talent Management & Leadership Development
- Design and implement systems for talent acquisition, retention, and internal mobility especially for critical project and functional leadership roles
- Build and execute leadership development programs to strengthen internal capabilities
- Identify and onboard future-ready leaders from within the infrastructure ecosystem
HR Governance, Compliance & Processes
- Ensure full compliance with labor laws, factory/site regulations, and statutory policies across locations
- Standardize and streamline HR policies, SOPs, and grievance redressal mechanisms
- Build a strong framework for managing contractors, field labor, and vendor HR alignment
HR Technology & Analytics
- Leverage modern HR tech platforms (HRMS, ATS, LMS, PMS) to drive automation and efficiency
- Use workforce analytics and dashboards for better decision-making and trend analysis
Stakeholder Engagement & Field Alignment
- Build strong working relationships with cross-functional heads and regional leaders
- Regularly travel to sites and offices across India to interact with employees at all levels and understand ground realities
- Promote a culture of inclusiveness, accessibility, and transparent communication across hierarchical layers
Candidate Profile
Must-Have Attributes
- Minimum 20 years of progressive HR experience in Infrastructure / EPC /Engineering sectors
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate business needs into people plans
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale HR teams, systems, and culture from the ground up
- Experience working in promoter-led environments with an ability to manage complex stakeholder dynamics
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, statutory frameworks, and industry best practices
- Track record of building high-performing teams and leading change
- High emotional intelligence with ability to influence without authority
- Willingness to travel regularly to project sites and regional offices
- Fluent in English and Hindi; regional language understanding will be an advantage
Preferred
- Experience leading HR in companies with 1,000+ employees and multi-site operations
- Exposure to large-scale infrastructure or engineering-led transformation projects
- Strong network within the infra/real estate talent market
