EY - Data Architect - ETL/MDM (6-15 yrs)

Roles and Responsibilities :

We are seeking a skilled and strategic Data Architect to join our team and lead the design and implementation of our enterprise data architecture, leveraging Microsoft Azure and aligning with data fabric principles. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in cloud-based data platforms, data integration, and data governance, along with a passion for enabling scalable, secure, and intelligent data ecosystems.

Job Description :

Overall responsibility for the data architecture, standards and platform at ABC

- Support and enable the ABC Data Architecture and the Data Strategy

- Supporting solution architecture and engineering for data ingestion and modelling challenges

- Support the deduplication of enterprise data tools, working with the ABC Data Governance

- Board, Digital Council and IT to drive towards a single ABC Data Architecture

- Design and implement modern, cloud-native data architecture based on data fabric principles, supporting both operational and analytical workloads.

- Define data architecture strategy and blueprints aligned with business needs and technical roadmaps.

- Lead the architecture of data platforms on Microsoft Azure, including services such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Fabric, and Azure Purview.

- Ensure data interoperability across heterogeneous sources through APIs, metadata management, and standardized data models.

- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to define data flows, transformations, and integration points.

- Govern data models, data pipelines, metadata, and master data in alignment with enterprise standards.

- Provide architectural oversight for data ingestion, storage, processing, and access layers.

- Champion best practices in data governance, security, privacy, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

- Evaluate new tools and technologies that align with the data fabric architecture strategy.

Skills :

- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles.

- Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure Data Services.

- Strong knowledge of data fabric architecture, including concepts like distributed data management, metadata-driven pipelines, and semantic layers.

- Hands-on experience designing solutions using Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Azure Fabric, Synapse, and Azure Purview.

- Deep understanding of data modeling (relational, dimensional, and NoSQL), ELT/ETL, data quality, and master data management (MDM).

- Familiarity with data catalogs, lineage, and data observability tools.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Certification in Microsoft Azure Data Architect (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).

- Experience with real-time data processing (e.g., Azure Event Hubs, Stream Analytics).

- Knowledge of emerging trends like knowledge graphs and AI-powered data governance.

- Background in regulated industries such as Life Sciences, Finance, or Healthcare.
