Design Engineer

The business builds custom equipment with an integrated capability in design, manufacturing, and testing of complex and sophisticated systems for several mission-critical applications in nuclear power, land & naval systems, steel industries, and wind turbines. These include generator parts for gearless wind turbines, catalyst baskets for nitric acid plants, hydro-turbines, and steel plant equipment.

Godrej Precision Engineering also offers testing and inspection services for precision equipment. Each high precision, custom-built equipment order is manufactured to stringent quality requirements of the customers. The business has successfully delivered systems and equipment for several mission-critical applications in nuclear power, as well as land and naval systems for the Indian Armed Forces.

1) Design Project Execution:

• Provide Timely design output. Adherence to schedule based on output norm.
• Provide Accurate and Clear Design Output
• To generate easy manufacturable drawings also taking into account assembly considerations.

2) Project Execution Support:

• To provide technical support to shop during manufacturing.
• To do cost tracking, Extra Claim, Document savings, Project verification.
• Project handling and Customer approvals

3) Knowledge Enhancement/Design System Improvements

• Capture and share project learnings
• System adherence & Improvements. Comply to design Norms.Product Documentation. Prepare and submit for customer approval.

Key Responsibilities:

1. To conceptualize and do detail designing of mechanical equipment.

2. To do basic calculations and analyses the components for basic stresses

3. To select standard components based on functional requirements.

4.To prepare material purchase specifications. (MTOs).

4. To create Detailed Mfg. drawings

5. To create comprehensive Project Bill of material

6. To support mfg during project execution

7. To do project documentation.
