Senior Strategy Analyst - Investment Banking

Company: A global investment bank

Team Overview:

- The work of the Strategy team includes business performance review, analysis of business and operating model, market entry strategy, acquisition screening and industry & competitor analysis.

- The team works directly with senior management across the businesses and regions to determine the optimal strategy for reaching the business aspirations in the rapidly changing market environment.

Experience: 1 to 2 years

Qualification: MBA or MS or B.Tech from top tier institute

Role & Responsibilities:

- Work as a part of the Strategy division on global, regional and divisional projects

- Prepare presentations for senior management board meetings, investor day, off-sites, town Halls

- Support management / business on strategic projects (e.g. identifying opportunities in new areas of growth, developing medium-term business strategy and planning, acquisition screening / evaluation for inorganic opportunities, new digital business growth opportunities etc.)

- Execute projects on business optimization, restructuring and cost efficiency

- Strategic assessment of underperforming businesses and development of scenarios / recommendations for business heads

- Conduct analysis of the competitive and general macro / market environment for senior management presentations. Develop market sizing / revenue pool models

- Prepare quarterly presentation on Wholesale division's earnings covering financial performance analysis, changes in business environment and key themes impacting the earnings

- Most of the projects require working closely with strategy team members, business CAOs, finance and other functional teams in different regions; working independently or with the support of another member of the team

- Role provides wide exposure into investment banking industry across Fixed Income Equities and IB Advisory

Desired Profile:

- 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a strategy role, in a consulting firm or a strategy/business planning unit of a financial institution

- Knowledge of capital markets / investment banking will be preferred
