Job Description
- As a Supply Chain Management (SCM) Intern with a focus on Purchasing, Sourcing, and Logistics, you will immerse yourself in the intricacies of supply chain operations within the electronic components distribution sector
- Working closely with our SCM professionals, you will contribute to critical initiatives aimed at optimizing procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and logistics operations to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction
a. Assist in the procurement of electronic components from suppliers, including RFQ management, supplier negotiation, and purchase order processing.
b. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of components while maintaining quality standards and cost-effectiveness.
2. Sourcing and Vendor Management:
a. Support the sourcing team in identifying new suppliers and evaluating existing supplier performance.
b. Assist in conducting supplier assessments, including capabilities, reliability, and quality assurance measures.
3. Logistics and Transportation Management:
a. Aid in coordinating inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation planning, carrier selection, and freight management.
b. Assist in optimizing logistics routes and modes to minimize lead times and transportation costs.
4. Inventory Control and Optimization:
a. Support inventory control initiatives, including stock analysis, demand forecasting, and inventory optimization strategies.
b. Assist in identifying excess or obsolete inventory and implementing strategies to mitigate risks.
5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
a. Collect and analyse data related to purchasing, sourcing, and logistics performance metrics.
b. Prepare reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators and identify areas for improvement.
