Position Overview :

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and creative AI Prompt Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing prompt-based solutions that drive the generation of high-quality clinical summary reports and other medical content. This position sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence and healthcare and requires both technical expertise in natural language processing and a deep appreciation for clinical accuracy and compliance.

In this role, you will work with large language models (LLMs) such as GPT-4, Claude, and others to build prompt strategies that process complex healthcare data and generate actionable, reliable, and compliant outputs. Your contributions will be instrumental in ensuring that our AI-driven systems align with clinical workflows and organizational goals, while also delivering measurable value to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, test, and iterate AI prompts to generate clinically accurate summaries and support new healthcare-related AI use cases.

- Analyze both structured and unstructured clinical data to inform the creation of effective prompt strategies.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical informaticians, data scientists, and software engineers to develop and integrate prompt workflows into production environments.

- Interpret healthcare-specific requirements and documentation standards to ensure AI outputs align with industry best practices and internal quality benchmarks.

- Monitor and analyze model performance; refine prompts based on AI output behavior, performance metrics, and stakeholder feedback.

- Maintain detailed versioning and documentation of prompts for reproducibility, compliance, and continuous improvement.

- Participate in the development of frameworks and tools to enhance prompt development, evaluation, and deployment efficiency.

- Keep up to date with the latest research, tools, and methodologies in LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted healthcare delivery.

Required Qualifications :

- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working with large language models (LLMs) such as GPT-4, Claude, PaLM, or similar.

- Proven expertise in prompt engineering, including developing and optimizing complex prompt structures for content generation.

- Strong understanding of natural language processing (NLP), language model behavior, and AI-driven content workflows.

- Ability to accurately interpret clinical content and healthcare data, including physician notes, lab reports, and EMR outputs.

- Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and clinical teams.

- Strong documentation practices and a focus on reproducibility and compliance.

Preferred Experience and Skills :

- Familiarity with clinical terminologies and coding systems such as ICD, SNOMED, and LOINC.

- Knowledge of healthcare data standards and formats such as HL7 and FHIR.

- Experience using AI development tools and APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, or similar platforms.

- Exposure to prompt optimization frameworks, evaluation tools, and techniques for measuring model reliability and response quality.

- Background in healthcare, life sciences, clinical documentation, or medical informatics is a significant advantage.

- Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), knowledge graphs, or hybrid AI systems is a plus.
