General Manager - Sales & Marketing (GM S&M) at XYZ Beach Resort leads the Sales and Marketing Department, driving revenue growth, guest satisfaction, and team engagement.

This role focuses on building strong customer relationships, leveraging sales channels, and creating effective campaigns within the marketing budget to enhance the resorts market presence. Collaboration with digital partners ensures seamless promotion execution. The position is key to delivering exceptional guest experiences and strong ROI for stakeholders.
Core Work Activities
1. Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Build an annual sales and marketing plan for the resort
- Establish monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets for the sales team and monitor the same
- Devise sales strategies to meet sales targets.
- Identify various opportunities to meet targets.
- Supervise the regional and unit sales teams.
- Supervise the revenue, reservation and catering sales teams.
- Proactively identify new business opportunities and foster strong partnerships with key accounts, travel agencies, and online platforms.
- Present the companys sales and marketing performance at various companies and board meetings.
- Plan sales blitzes to existing and new markets
2. Marketing Leadership & Brand Positioning:
- Design and execute innovative marketing campaigns to promote the resort's offerings across digital, social media and traditional platforms.
- Plan and participate in at relevant trade fairs and conferences.
- Encourage research on potential customers.
- Ensure that public relations are well maintained.
- Collaborate with digital and channel partners to enhance brand awareness and market presence.
- Network at various levels to bring more business to the company.
- Ensure the resort is marketed as a luxury destination by highlighting its unique selling points, experiences, and services.
3. Revenue, Reservations & Profitability:
- Work on revenue strategies with the resorts Revenue Manager
- Analyze sales performance, optimize event bookings, and focus on proactive and reactive sales to maximize profitability.
- Supervise and measure the effectiveness of the reservations team
4. Guest Service Excellence:
- Act as a key contact for guests, ensuring their needs are met while exceeding expectations to drive loyalty and satisfaction.
5. Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the Sales & Marketing team to achieve individual and collective targets.
- Act as a bridge between the market and internal stakeholders, including Operations, to ensure effective strategies.
- Conduct in-house seminars and training sessions for the sales team.
Skills Required:
- Minimum 10-15 Years of relevant hospitality experience.
- An MBA or an equivalent graduate degree in Sales and Marketing from a well-recognized institution.
- Well-versed with MS Office, Revenue Management and Sales & Marketing technologies.
- Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to increase sales and penetrate newer markets.
- Knowledge of best sales practices and methods.
- Up to date with the current market trends.
- Team player with solid motivational and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
