Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee the financial operations of our school. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in managing accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance specific to the education sector. This role will involve maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring adherence to financial regulations, and supporting the school’s overall financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Oversee the preparation of financial statements and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Monitor school budgets and control expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation and management of the school’s annual budget.
Provide financial forecasts and ensure alignment with the school’s financial goals.
Monitor cash flow and ensure appropriate resource allocation.
Compliance & Audit:
Ensure compliance with school accounting policies, government regulations, and applicable tax laws.
Prepare for and manage external audits and provide the necessary documentation.
Oversee compliance with statutory obligations like PF, ESI, TDS, and GST.
Fee Management:
Manage student fee collection, tracking, and reconciliation.
Work closely with the administration and parent teams for fee-related queries and dues follow-up.
Vendor & Payroll Management:
Handle vendor payments, contracts, and school procurements in compliance with school policies.
Process monthly payroll, tax computations, and staff reimbursements.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct periodic financial analyses to assist the management team in decision-making.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations for financial improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Professional certification
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in an accounting role, preferably within the education/schooling sector.
Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, or other ERP systems) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations, school fee structures, and accounting best practices.
Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
