Director sales - India (CPG/Retail)


Job Description :

- We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Sales to lead our sales efforts in the dynamic and fast-growing Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG/ Retail) market in India Region/market You will possess a deep understanding of the nuances of the India Region/market, coupled with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and expanding market share within the region.

Responsibilities :

- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy tailored specifically to the unique characteristics of the India Region/market.

- Identify and capitalize on emerging market trends and opportunities to drive revenue growth and increase market penetration.

- Expand our presence in existing markets and explore new market entry opportunities within the region.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tailor product offerings and marketing strategies to meet the needs of the India Region/market.

Sales Team Leadership :

- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team capable of achieving ambitious sales targets within the region.

- Set clear sales targets and performance metrics for the team, and provide ongoing coaching and support to ensure success.

- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the sales team.

Sales Forecasting and Reporting :

- Develop accurate sales forecasts and budgets based on market analysis and sales trends within India Region/market.

- Monitor sales performance and provide regular reports to senior management, highlighting opportunities for growth and improvement.

- Implement corrective actions as needed to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded.

Cross-functional Collaboration :

- Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure alignment of sales activities with overall business objectives.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop localized sales collateral, marketing materials, and promotional campaigns for the India Region/market.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.

- MBA preferred.

- 10+ years of experience in sales leadership roles within the CPG/Retail industry, with a focus on the India Region/market.

- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in India Region/market.

- Deep understanding of the cultural, economic, and regulatory landscape of India Region/market, with experience navigating diverse markets within the region.

- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a multicultural sales team.

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English.

- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies that are tailored to the India Region/market.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends specific to India Region/market.

- Ability to travel within the India Region/market as needed.
