Job Description
- Ensuring the delivery of reliable, secure, high-quality software products that consistently exceed customer expectations.
- Coaching and mentoring the API QA team, providing valuable guidance and support in test planning, execution, and reporting.
- Defining and implementing robust API testing processes and best practices.
- Establishing and maintaining key metrics and KPIs to track and report on the effectiveness of API testing efforts.
- Collaborating with development teams to seamlessly integrate API testing into the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Performing hands-on testing of complex API functionalities and effectively troubleshooting technical issues.
- Conducting performance, load, and stress testing for APIs to evaluate scalability and reliability.
- Implementing and managing automated testing frameworks for API testing, leveraging tools such as Postman.
- Staying current with industry best practices, emerging trends, and technologies in API testing.
- A Bachelors degree in CS / IT (Preferred).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience - Proven experience in API testing with a minimum of 3 years in a senior QA role.
- Excellent communication, strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring a team to deliver high-quality software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, self-motivation, a sense of ownership, a passion for excellence and innovation, and an insatiable desire for learning.
- A strong understanding of API concepts, HTTP protocols, RESTful APIs, and Selenium Testing Concepts.
- Proficiency in API testing tools such as Postman and JMeter.
- Knowledge of running Performance tests on APIs.
- Expertise in programming languages like JAVA and/or Python.
- In-depth knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- The ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time to meet deadlines.
- Certifications in API testing or related fields (Preferred).
- Experience with continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Previous experience in the SaaS industry (Preferred).
