Job Description
What you will OWN:
- Collaborate with the development team to understand API requirements and design test cases accordingly.
- Execute test cases for API endpoints using various testing tools and frameworks.
- Understand SDLC, release cycle, branching strategy, branches, and versions and use the knowledge for reliable testing
- Perform regression testing to verify the stability of APIs after code changes.
- Identify, log, and track defects, and work closely with developers to resolve issues.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test data, and test results.
- Perform load testing and stress testing to evaluate the performance of APIs.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in API testing.
- Participate in team meetings and provide regular status updates on testing progress.
- Assist in troubleshooting and providing technical support for API-related issues.
- Source controlling test artifacts using version control tools like GitHub
- Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Bachelors degree in CS/IT(Preferred).
- Have around 1 year of work experience in Rest APIs and Performance testing.
- Strong understanding of API concepts and HTTP protocols.
- Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman, JMeter.
- Good understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Are strong in Java or Python programming; knowledge of both is an added advantage.
- Have a strong analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
