Marks & Spencer - Manager - Business Solutions - IT Business Intelligence & Data Management (10-12 yrs)

Key Deliverables (Essential Functions & Responsibilities of the Job):

- Create, Manage & enhance the applications landscape in the areas of BI & data function.

- Work with IT Leader for application in BI & data application instances (with dependencies from global M&S platforms + JV partner systems) and integrations for the same in India BI landscape.

- Developing and enhancing data infrastructure.

- Designing and building new data models that will provide descriptive & prescriptive/NBA analytics

- Establish and maintain IT governance structure with M&S business & other process owners to manage data/BI operations, resolve issues and prioritize enhancement requests in support of M&S strategic direction.

- Ensure that the systems under the responsibilities meet the SLAs and are stable and serves the purpose in minimal costs.

- Contribute to data IT strategy by managing staff; researching and implementing technological strategic solutions.

- Identify and steer M&S India Market BI & data demands in a timely and comprehensive manner and ensure business requirements are clearly articulated and documented.

- Leverage, recommend and implement solutions & enhancements whenever deemed fit and provide training to relevant teams where necessary.

- Ensure business requirements are clearly articulated in functional specification documentation, including Requests for Change (RFC), project charter, capital requests, new application discovery phase requirements and feedback on existing Market / HQ application gap assessments.

- Accountable for project delivery of applications or technology in time & budgets.

- Manage personnel and outside contractor(s) as required.

JOB PROFILE:

- Establish budget with user approval and monitor actual charges in line with work performed.

- Where required, to provide leadership, welfare and coaching to your team.

Key Requirement:

- This data & BI manager will employ interpersonal and organizational skill sets and must have the ability to work both independently with limited oversight and collaboratively across multiple projects.

- S/he must be highly motivated and able, with his/her knowledge of M&S systems, to apply that knowledge within an interdisciplinary environment.

- This Manager must have facilitative capacities for clear and timely communication to support collaborative enterprises among distinct units.

- Have Worked in the Retail domain for 2+ years, should be comfortable in understanding of retail business KPIS and terminology.

- Proven business process analysis skills - ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, document findings, draw valid conclusions, and propose solutions.

- Strong understanding & proven expertise in BI - Hadoop, Hive, snowflake/redshift, MS/SQL, Qlikview, Oracle PL SQL development, shell scripting, ETL development, big data, data visualization tools & in consumer product and Retail industries.

- Nice to have - ML (Python/Splunk) skills.

- Good understanding and should have hands-on experience on AWS data engineering stack (Glue, Lambda, Athena, SNS, pyspark, step function)

- Good understanding of database systems (SQL/NoSQL) and big data processing concepts

- Comfortable in understanding complex SQL/procedure/pyspark code bases

- Knowledge and understanding of processing different file formats (csv, XML, Json, avaro, parquet) and data from APIS.

- Experience in entity relationship modeling, data validations, data normalization, performance optimization of queries, and ability to debug, analyze & optimize SQL queries
