Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to lead our database management efforts, focusing on MSSQL, Elastic, and MongoDB setups. This role will be pivotal in overseeing the migration of our on-premise databases to the cloud. The ideal candidate will be proactive, capable of making independent decisions regarding database strategies, and proficient in managing a team of SQL developers and DBAs.

Key Responsibilities :

- Database Management : Manage and maintain MSSQL, Elastic, and MongoDB database setups, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.

- Cloud Migration : Lead efforts to migrate on-premise databases to cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption to operations.

- Performance Tuning : Implement performance tuning strategies to enhance database efficiency and response times.

- Backup and Recovery : Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and availability.

- Security Management : Implement and manage database security protocols and access controls to protect sensitive data.

- Query Optimization : Optimize SQL queries and database structures to improve overall application performance.

- Monitoring and Troubleshooting : Monitor database systems regularly to identify and resolve issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum performance.

- Team Leadership : Lead a team of SQL developers and DBAs, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.

- Documentation and Compliance : Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures. Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

- Collaboration : Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, system administrators, and IT operations staff to support application development and deployment.

Qualifications :

Experience : Proven experience (8+ years) as a Senior DBA or similar role, with expertise in managing MSSQL, Elastic, and MongoDB database environments.

Technical Skills :

- In-depth knowledge of database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management.

- Cloud Experience: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and migrating databases to the cloud.

- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing and mentoring teams of SQL developers and DBAs.

- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.

- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent are a plus.

Education :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Additional certifications and advanced degrees are advantageous.
