Job Description:
This Senior Manager role will lead and mentor a team of professionals in the areas of Reporting and Technical Accounting (includes external reporting, consolidations, and the revenue/rebates team) and will require strong communication, coordination and collaboration with functional teams located in both India and US.
Serve as key business partner in:
· Providing oversight for contract revenue review requirements and Gross to Net (GTN) or sales discounts reserve and related system data integrity, including customer and GPO rebates, admin fees, and distributor chargebacks.
· Manage the external reporting process to the highest level of quality, including deliverables to investors and lenders.
· Oversee global financial consolidation and close activities in Oracle FCCS, supporting intercompany and management-to-GAAP reconciliations, driving process enhancements, resolving complex accounting issues, and guiding team performance to ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness. Lead process improvements in the areas of external reporting, consolidations, and revenue.
Role & Responsibilities:
Revenue recognition and reporting
·Guide and counsel customer contracts for revenue recognition implications, including engagement with key stakeholders such as sales, contracting, systems, and legal.
·Guide and support revenue accounting and customer rebates as necessary and exercise judgment within defined policies and authoritative literature to determine appropriate action and accounting for revenue and GTN transactions.
·Build solid partnership relationships with colleagues in finance, commercial, operations, and IS to gather, understand, and validate support for judgmental accounting positions.
·Review, approve, and provide counsel over regional accounting position papers related to revenue recognition and support the global roll out of the ASC 606 Policy and communication of the same.
·Sustain continuous communication with key stakeholder groups and collaborate on business initiatives, contracting strategies to support change management, governance, and compliance.
·In partnership with Revenue Accounting, the drive industry best practice sharing and promote education and training of revenue, GTN, internal controls, and operations topics to staff, leaders, and peers.
External Reporting
· Oversee and manage the external financial reporting process owned by the Pune team, including preparation of financial statement disclosures and related supporting files.
·Review deliverables in detail to ensure the highest quality standard in financial reporting.
·Lead and contribute to large-scale projects to implement process improvements and internal controls for financial reporting (SOX 3-02). Work cross-functionally to manage change and enhance communications with stakeholders.
· Support new business initiatives, system integrations, and other major change management impacting financial statements and related systems. Liaise with corporate accounting and global reporting/consolidations as needed on financial reporting matters.
· Provide general guidelines and parameters for staff functioning
Consolidations
·Financial Consolidation in Oracle FCCS: Manage end-to-end consolidation across entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely results in line with GAAP and corporate reporting standards.
·Oversee Month-End Close & Reconciliations: Drive timely, high-quality close processes, including intercompany and management to GAAP reconciliations, reporting, and stakeholder deliverables.
·Enhance Consolidation Strategy & Guidance: Serve as SME on consolidation, accounting policies, and systems; standardize practices and improve documentation for audit readiness and process clarity.
·Resolve High-Level Issues Quickly: Address complex consolidation and reporting challenges in real time, ensuring smooth operational flow and decision-making support over intercompany reconciliations, technical/GAAP accounting, and facilitation of inter-entity variance resolution.
·Drive Continuous Process & System Improvements: Optimize Oracle FCCS usage, lead system enhancements, streamline workflows, and elevate internal controls and documentation standards.
·Lead and Develop High-Performing Teams: Set direction, coach team members, manage performance, and promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement both operationally and through documentation of enhanced consolidation processes.
Represent Medline interests to internal and external parties - e.g., CFO and divisional leadership interactions, FP&A/tax/treasury partnership, and presentations/schedules for leadership, sponsors, lenders, tax authorities, auditors, and other stakeholders.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
Certification / Licensure
Work Experience
At least 15+ years of post qualification accounting/finance experience, focused on reporting and working knowledge of ASC 606 principles and related systems and internal controls.
At least 6 years of people management experience in a team of at least 10-15 finance associates.
Hands-on experience on Oracle FCCS or HFM, ASC 606
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Experience applying advanced knowledge of accounting practices, controls, and systems.
ASC 606 subject matter expertise and experience applying advanced knowledge of related practices, systems, and controls.
Experience leading process improvements and cross-functional projects, including change management.
Experience coaching, mentoring, and training staff.
Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills; ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to change. Proven business partnership and change management experience.
