Job Description:
- We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts in the decorative wood products sector.
- In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans that drive revenue growth and market expansion in the veneers and laminates industry.
- You will oversee your assigned region, mentor your team, and build strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and channel partners to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies, objectives, and action plans tailored to your region.
- Set clear sales quotas and targets for individual team members to ensure alignment with overall business goals.
Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Monitor team performance through regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback and implementing performance improvement plans when necessary.
- Identify obstacles or challenges in achieving targets and work with your team to develop effective solutions.
Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key customers, distributors, and channel partners.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to design and execute customer-specific sales strategies and promotions.
Reporting & Forecasting:
- Prepare detailed sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports for management review.
- Provide regular updates on market conditions, sales performance, and customer feedback to senior leadership.
Required Skills and Qualification:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred (relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative).
Professional Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or field sales with a proven track record, ideally within the interior, furniture, veneer, or laminates industry.
Key Competencies:
- Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
- Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across teams.
- Preferred Industry Experience.
- Experience in selling wood-based decorative products, specifically in veneers, laminates, or related decorative surfaces.
- Familiarity with the interior design and furniture sectors will be highly advantageous.
