Head - Healthcare Counselor (15-20 yrs)

Job Role:

- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of healthcare counselors, psychologists, and support staff.

- Design and oversee patient counseling programmes tailored to different medical conditions (e.g., chronic illness, cancer, fertility, mental health).

- Ensure ethical, culturally sensitive, and patient-centric counseling practices.

- Collaborate with medical, nursing, and administrative teams to integrate counseling into the holistic care model.

- Monitor quality standards, supervise case management, and conduct regular audits of counseling effectiveness.

- Develop SOPs, training modules, and workshops for continuous professional development of the counseling team.

- Handle escalated or complex patient and family cases requiring advanced psychological support.

- Maintain detailed records while ensuring strict confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.

- Drive awareness programmes for patients, caregivers, and hospital staff on mental and emotional wellbeing.

- Stay updated with latest research, tools, and therapies in healthcare counseling.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

- Masters Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related healthcare discipline.

- Exp in clinical counseling experience, preferably in a healthcare/hospital environment.

- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

- Strong understanding of ethical guidelines (e.g., APA, MCI, NIMHANS) and relevant legal aspects.

- Excellent interpersonal, empathetic listening, and crisis intervention skills.

- Experience in team management, conflict resolution, and interdepartmental collaboration.
