IT Infrastructure and Cloud Software Network Engineer @ Tanzania

Role & responsibilities

Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the network infrastructure of our cloud-based services, deep understanding of cloud platforms, network protocols, and security measures, as well as experience in software development and automation.

The role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's IT infrastructure. This role ensures that all IT systems operate efficiently and securely, supporting the organization's overall business operations and strategic goals and implementation of new software and upgrading

• Design and Implementation: Develop and implement network architectures that support cloud-based applications and services. This includes designing network topologies, configuring routers and switches, and ensuring high availability and scalability.
• Network Management: Monitor and manage the performance, reliability, and security of cloud networks. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, optimize network performance, and implement updates and patches.
• Security: Implement robust security measures to protect cloud networks from threats and vulnerabilities. This includes configuring firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols to safeguard data and applications.
• Automation and Scripting: Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline network management tasks. Utilize programming languages such as Python, Java, or Ruby to automate network configuration, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud-based services. Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and best practices. Ensure that all network changes are well-documented and adhere to company policies and industry standards.
• Develop and implement IT infrastructure strategies aligned with the company's objectives.
• Design and deploy network infrastructure, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless networks.
• Establish and manage data centres, ensuring high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Integrate new technologies and upgrade existing systems to improve efficiency and performance.
• Monitor and maintain all IT systems, including servers, storage, networking equipment, and software applications.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups to ensure security and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly, minimizing downtime and service interruptions.
• Collaborate with the IT support team to provide end-user support and training as needed.
• Implement and enforce security protocols to protect the company's data and IT assets from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and address potential risks.
• Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure the integrity and availability of critical systems
• Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to procure necessary hardware, software, and services.
• Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal performance and value for the company.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Lead IT infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align IT initiatives with business objectives and operational requirements.
• Prepare project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-implementation reviews
