Fire Alarm Engineer

About the Opportunity

Operating at the intersection of Construction, Building Services, and Life-Safety Engineering, our fast-growing Indian firm delivers end-to-end fire-alarm and risk-mitigation solutions for commercial, industrial, and mixed-use developments nationwide. We design, install, and maintain code-compliant detection, notification, and suppression systems that safeguard people, assets, and mission-critical operations.

Role & Responsibilities

• Engineer, install, and commission addressable and conventional fire-alarm systems panels, detectors, modules, sounders, and interface units ensuring full compliance with NFPA 72, NBC 2016, and local authority norms.
• Program panels (Honeywell, Siemens, Bosch or similar), execute cause-and-effect logic, and integrate with BMS, sprinkler, and access-control subsystems.
• Perform site surveys, produce AutoCAD/REVIT drawings, conduit routing, and cable schedules; generate accurate BOQs and as-built documentation.
• Lead functional testing, troubleshooting, and handover; run loop tests, smoke & heat detector verifications, and SAT/FAT reporting to achieve zero-defect delivery.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and AHJ inspectors to drive schedules, resolve technical queries, and obtain final approvals.
• Provide post-installation maintenance, periodic inspections, and emergency call-out support, training client teams on system operation and safety protocols.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with fire-alarm system installation, programming, and commissioning.
• Proficiency with NFPA 70 & 72, IS 2189, and NBC fire codes.
• Ability to read and create AutoCAD layouts, single-line diagrams, and wiring schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with multimeters, loop testers, and test gas equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written English/Hindi communication for client and contractor coordination.

Preferred

• Vendor certifications (Honeywell, Siemens, Edwards, Notifier etc.).
• Working knowledge of emergency voice evacuation, aspirating smoke detection, and gas suppression systems.
• Experience on large-scale infrastructure or high-rise projects using BIM workflows.
