Regulatory Expert (USFDA, FSANZ, UK, GCC)

Position : Regulatory Expert

Job Description:

1. Recipe Compliance: Detailed check for the acceptability of all the ingredients/recipes in the products as per the standards of the respective countries regulations (US FDA, Australia Newzeland, UK, GCC). Priority is for USFDA regulation. Ingredient assessment or formula review of all the ingredients and food additives in the products recipe along with their percentage quantities or Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA)/Reference Daily Intake (RDI) values, their levels, and acceptability criteria. Provide applicable regulatory requirements of finished products to QA/AG wherever required.

2. Label Compliance: Responsible for providing details of all labeling parameters for shared labels for label declaration e.g., product category, ingredient list, complete nutritional information basis data provided, serving details, DV%, method of preparation format, tolerances (both minimum and maximum) applied on the declared value, net quantity, manufacturing location, country of origin, font height and other spacing requirements, any logo, etc., including primary and secondary packaging, allergen confirmation, coding requirements, and suggesting missing information or corrections that are to be made on the labels; an

3. Raw material compliance assessment: Providing end-to-end ingredient specification compliance; and provide details of test parameters (quality, safety including microbiological, contaminants, pesticides, or other applicable parameters) to be conducted for given products or their raw materials (wherever applicable) along with respective USFDA method details (in case of the US) or any other method required by importing country, along with ranges or Ref value of parameter, frequency of analysis, etc. Responsible for providing requirements pertaining to any document required to US export or other country export for the specified commodities e.g., permits, certificates, Halal, Kosher, etc.

4. Packaging Material requirement: Compliance with regulations governing the materials that come into contact with food; Checking if the packaging migration data complies with regulatory limits; and confirming if the authorized substances are used in the manufacturing of packaging materials

5. Authority query Support: Providing support in issue resolution in case of concern from the authorities at the time of import or any product picked from the shelf.
