EDI Consultant (6-8 yrs)

Job Description :

Key Responsibilities :

- EDI Implementation & Configuration : Lead the end-to-end implementation and configuration of EDI solutions, including setting up new trading partners, configuring communication protocols (e.g., AS2, SFTP, FTPs, VAN), and managing partner profiles.

- Data Mapping & Translation : Design, develop, and maintain complex EDI maps and transformations between various EDI standards (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML, JSON) and internal systems (e.g., ERP, WMS, CRM).

- Requirements Analysis : Work closely with business stakeholders, trading partners, and internal teams to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical EDI specifications and workflows.

- Troubleshooting & Support : Provide expert-level support for EDI operations, including monitoring EDI transactions, identifying and resolving issues (e.g., data errors, communication failures), and ensuring timely problem resolution.

- System Integration : Ensure seamless integration of EDI systems with existing enterprise applications (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and other internal systems.

- Testing & Validation : Conduct thorough testing and validation of EDI documents and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and data integrity.

- Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for EDI processes, configurations, mapping specifications, and trading partner onboarding guides.

- Process Improvement : Proactively identify opportunities for EDI process improvements, automation, and standardization to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

- Vendor Management : Collaborate with EDI VAN providers and other third-party solution vendors as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

- 6 years of hands-on experience as an EDI Consultant or a similar role.

- In-depth knowledge of major EDI standards such as ANSI X12 and EDIFACT.

- Proven experience with EDI mapping tools and integration platforms (e.g., IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, Cleo Integration Cloud, Boomi, SPS Commerce, Seeburger BIS, SAP PI/PO).

- Strong understanding of various EDI communication protocols (e.g., AS2, SFTP, FTPs, HTTP/S, VAN).

- Proficiency in SQL for data querying, analysis, and troubleshooting.

- Experience with ERP systems integration (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) related to EDI processes.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with a detail-oriented approach.

- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical teams, business users, and external partners.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
