Experience Required: Minimum 8 to 10 years (with at least 3 - 5 years in a supervisory role)
Reporting To: Medical Superintendent / Hospital Director / Dean

Job Summary:

The Nursing Superintendent will oversee the overall administration and management of nursing services across all departments of the hospital. The role involves planning, supervising, and improving nursing operations in line with clinical standards, regulatory guidelines, and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and manage nursing services across all units (wards, ICUs, OTs, OPDs, etc.).
• Ensure adequate staffing, duty rosters, and deployment of trained nurses across departments.
• Maintain high standards of patient care, nursing ethics, and discipline.
• Conduct regular training, mentoring, and performance reviews for nursing staff.
• Supervise infection control practices, biomedical waste management, and sterilization protocols.
• Coordinate with the medical and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care.
• Oversee procurement and stock of nursing equipment, uniforms, and consumables.
• Ensure proper documentation, nursing records, and compliance with audits.
• Implement and monitor adherence to NABH/NABL/JCI or other regulatory guidelines.
• Handle grievances and disciplinary issues within the nursing team.
• Support emergency preparedness, disaster management, and special events planning.

Qualifications & Skills:

• GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc. Nursing (preferred)
• Registered with Maharashtra Nursing Council
• Minimum 10 years of clinical and administrative nursing experience
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Excellent knowledge of hospital operations, patient care, and nursing regulations
• Familiarity with NABH/NABL accreditation processes
• Proficiency in Marathi, Hindi, and English is desirable

Preferred Background:

• Experience in a multi-specialty hospital or medical college hospital
• Exposure to training and academic programs in nursing
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and hospital information systems
