Network Testing Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Develop and execute test plans and test cases for VXLAN, EVPN, and BGP features.
Perform functional, regression, scale, and performance testing of routing protocols and overlay networks.
Validate multi-tenant segmentation, MAC/IP learning, and BGP EVPN route types.
Set up and maintain complex lab environments (Leaf-Spine, Clos topologies).
Automate test cases using Python, Robot Framework, or other test tools.
Log, debug, and verify issues using traffic generators (e.g., Spirent, IXIA), packet analyzers, and CLI/API-based tools.
Collaborate with developers to reproduce issues and validate fixes.

Preferred candidate profile

Hands-on experience with VXLAN, EVPN, and BGP protocol testing.
Strong understanding of Layer 2/3 networking
Familiarity with test tools like Wireshark, IXIA, Spirent, Ostinato, or Scapy.
Experience with Linux-based environments and network device CLIs
Scripting knowledge in Python, TCL, or Robot Framework for automation.
Good understanding of packet capture and traffic analysis.
