Mechanical Engineer - Water Treatment Plant

KEY RESPONSBILITIES Mechanical Engineer is a member of the project management Team who is responsible to work independantly and also manage a team of Engineers for overseeing the mechanical aspect of project. Coordinating with project team and Engineering contractors during the FEED, EPC construction, commissioning to Operation phase of Water Treatment Plant. He will report to RCM Mechanical & Operation and Maintenance Responsible for Piping, Equipment erection & commissioning. Reviewing Technical & Engineering Specifications, documents, drawings, Equipment and UG & AG Piping Layouts, Inspection & Test Plans, 3D model, etc. during detailed engineering phase of the Project. Responsible for Mechanical Inspections & clearances during various stages of the project. Identify resource needs and deploy (internal & external) to ensure appropriate support. Ensure the safety responsibilities for this position are carried out. Tanks fabrication & erection. Rotary equipment erection and alignment. Knowledge of heavy lifting Equipments. Quantity survey & billing. Responsible for Quality, Safety and Accounting. Ensure the safety responsibilities for this position are carried out. Participate in HAZOP, QRA, HAZID & HSEIA. Advise the Engineering Manager ahead of issues becoming critical and provide recommendations to improve these issues. Provide appropriate guidance as necessary with regard to local legislation, codes and standard and technical requirements. He shall have the personality and drive to manage indipendantly and also direct and guide the team to achieve the Project objectives. In addition, he must be assertive and firm in dealing with EPC contractors and other service provides while exercising absolute control on the work. FUNCTIONAL SKILLS Should possess the exposure of site execution, fabrication, and billing activities with Quality and Safety of the project activities. He should have experience in Erection & commissioning of equipments, Piping, structural & tanks. He should have experience in water treatment plant like WTP, Raw water intake system, ETP, etc. Should lead the planning and site execution of water treatment projects ( Pre Treatment ). Confidence to deal with individuals at all levels in the organization, Proven conflict resolution skills. BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS Reasoning & Analysis Interpersonal Skills Result Orientation People Management Adaptability & Flexibility QUALIFICATION BE or B. Tech - Mechanical Engineering EXPERIENCE 11 - 15 CERTIFICATIONS Project Management certifications, Project Mangement Professional (PMP) or similar. SELECTION CRITERIA Should have proven experience in Mechanical (static and rotating) equipment specification, selection, construction and commissioning @ water treatment. Experience in large scale green field & Water Treatment Plant. Should have complete knowledge of Piping, structure fabrication & Rotary Equipments. Experience in HAZOP and 3d Model and maintainablity reviews. Through with design codes and standards. Coordinating with Engineering Contractor mechanical team in the FEED and detailed engineering phases of petrochemical projects Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written, proficient in MS Office. Experience in HAZOP and 3d Model and maintainablity reviews.
