Director, Payment Operations

Shift Timings: 2 pm to 11 pm

Location: Chandigarh

The Director of Payment Operations will be responsible for building and overseeing the local team who manages robust operational money movement workflows and driving continuous improvements, and managing escalations related to Payments by engaging internal and external teams to mitigate customer impact and fix problems across a wide range of technology platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a demonstrated track record of influencing senior leadership, collaborating across stakeholder groups and leading key change efforts as well as critical skills in the transformation of payment operations and back-office platforms.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for the local team who manages day-to-day operations & set up mechanisms/processes to ensure payment success.  Become SME (subject matter expert) for existing payments technologies as well as new technologies as they emerge.
• Oversee all payment operations and systems supporting money movement within the site, ensuring efficiency, certainty and compliance
• Lead the identification of issues and incidents, conduct business impact analysis, and engage with the wider team for resolution
• Identify opportunities for improvement within our payment services, effectively communicating with product management and engineering teams.  Lead the testing of payment integrations from ideation to production.
• Possess a deep understanding and experience in payments data, collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineering teams to provide insights and performance-related details to drive decision making.
• Focus on optimizing processing costs to deliver a positive impact on payment processing expenses
• Manage supervisors and a team of operational analysts.  Lead a team of payments professionals, promoting a high-performing culture

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required Skills

• 15+ years relevant experience and 6+ years in a similar role within regulated Financial Services.  Direct experience in money movement payment operations required
• Expert knowledge of banking, payment and card schemes required.
• Track record of establishing teams and processes from the ground up.
• Experience developing and managing capacity plans and resource management
• Possesses both strategic and operational work experience
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience developing and leading high-performance teams.
• IMPORTANT NOTE:  This role requires a hybrid schedule working the afternoon and evening local time to overlap between IST and US hours (approximately 2pm to 11pm local time)

Preferred Skills

• Multi-rail payments (ACH, Wire, Check, Deposits) experienced preferred
• Previous processing or acquiring experience a plus.
• Previous lending, accounting or reconciliation experience a plus.
