  1. P-104768 - Process Engineer -Terminals and Pipelines

Job Requirements

  • Process Engineer in Oil & Gas domain with upstream or refinery experience. Involved in process calculations for cross country pipelines, Root cause analysis, Simulation studies , multiphase flow, and well head operations during normal, emergency, start-up & shutdown.
  • Prepare and review PFD, P&ID , Heat and Mass Balance calculations, multiphase and surge calculations, hydraulic and pressure drop calculations
  • Preparation of process parameters in pipeline datasheets 
  • Experience of risk studies and Brainstorming on Process units involving consequences and safeguards based on the nature of Risk and associated response systems.
  • Preparation and review of Process datasheets of equipment such as Separators, Heat exchangers, sizing of PSVs and Control Valves.
  • Procedures for Testing and commissioning of pipelines including Hydrostatic test, Pneumatic test, chemical cleaning and their method statements. 
  • Requirements and Types of Insulation and associated process calculations

Work Experience

1. Chemical engineering or equivalent degree is required.

2. 8-12 years’ experience with upstream / refining domain and cross country pipelines background is required. 

3. Good understanding of process unit operations and process calculations, including, fluid flow principles, and reaction principles, is a plus. 

4. Working experience with HYSYS and HTRI is an advantage

Quest Global  seek specialized expertise to optimize our chances of achieving enhancement of Company Standards  goals. It involves assessing and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of Standards through a comprehensive review and improvement process. 

The technical Publications Expert shall  have profound knowledge and experience im 

a. Refining requirements using Easy Approach to Requirements Syntax (EARS) - Analyze existing requirement lists and groupings.  Convert list, grouped, compounded and complex requirements into singular, standalone requirement statements using the Easy Approach to Requirements Syntax (EARS) and EARS pattern (see Annex for guidance). 

b. Ruleset assessment - Develop a predefined ruleset focusing on improving the quality of STANDARDSs., Apply the ruleset to the STANDARDSs and analyze conformance and Identify non-conformances or areas for improvement based on the ruleset. 

c. Quality enhancement - Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to improve the clarity and effectiveness of STANDARDSs, Implement suggestions and recommendations to enhance the overall quality of STANDARDSs.

d. Documentation and reporting - Document the process, changes made, and improvements achieved, Prepare a comprehensive report summarizing the refining and reformatting efforts, ruleset assessment outcomes, and the resulting enhancements in the Company Standards 

e. Risk mitigation and contingency planning - Identify potential risks associated with the refining, reformatting and assessment process of requirement and develop a mitigation strategy and contingency plan to address any unforeseen challenges.

Accurate, precise, error-free quality, ensuring a high degree of reliability in the content. Content should be presented in a clear, understandable manner, avoiding jargon and complex language that may hinder comprehension. 

Maintain a consistent style, tone, terminology, and formatting across all deliverables, creating a cohesive and professional output. Ensure all reformatting and improvements (refinements) align with the provided ruleset, complying with the defined criteria for enhancements. 

Confirm that the revised Standards meet the original requirement, fulfilling the intended purpose and objectives. Individual requirements with unique identifiers should be accurately assigned to each reformatted requirement, ensuring proper identification. 

The refining and reformatting process should encompass all relevant shall statements, leaving no requirements unaddressed. An assessment of recommendations and permissions should be conducted to determine if they can be promoted to a requirement, kept, or demoted to best practices and guidance. Implement feedback from stakeholders, especially SMEs, effectively integrating valuable insights into the final deliverables. Ensure all necessary documentation, including records of changes and versioning, is complete and accessible for reference.

Required Qualification and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 10+ years of experience in Oil and Gas – Upstream, Midstream and Downstream sectors
  • Worked with various Company Standards For Example – SHELL/SAUDI ARAMCO/EXXON MOBIL/BP and many such Oil Majors.
  • Proficient in Major International Codes such as ASME/EEMUA/DIN/API etc. and exhibit areas where such codes were referred and implemented in his work experience
