Azure Data Architect - Python/SQL (15-16 yrs)

About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Architect with a strong background in designing and implementing enterprise-scale Data Lakehouse architectures.

The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience in data engineering and architecture, with expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Delta Tables, Unity Catalogs, GitHub, and GitHub Workflows.

The candidate will play a key role in building scalable, secure, and optimized data solutions to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design and implementation of Data Lakehouse architectures using Azure technologies such as Data Factory, Databricks, Delta Tables, and Unity Catalog.

- Develop and implement pipelines to ingest, transform, and integrate data from various sources using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.

- Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, security, and compliance using tools like Unity Catalog and Azure RBAC.

- Leverage GitHub and GitHub Workflows to manage version control, CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration across teams.

- Optimize the performance of data pipelines and storage for scalability and efficiency, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.

- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions aligned with business objectives.

- Prepare architectural documentation and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions to upskill team members.

- Stay updated on emerging trends in data architecture, Azure technologies, and industry best practices.

Qualifications :

- Experience :

- 15+ years in data engineering/architecture with a focus on Data Lakehouse design and implementation.

- Proven expertise in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Delta Tables, Unity Catalog, and GitHub.

Technical Skills :

- Strong programming and scripting skills (e., Python, SQL, PySpark).

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and workflow automation using GitHub Workflows.

- Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance practices.

Azure Certification :

- Azure certification (e. , Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer Associate) is desirable but not mandatory.

Soft Skills :

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross functional teams.

Preferred Skills :

- Familiarity with Power BI or other visualization tools.

- Knowledge of machine learning and advanced analytics pipelines.
