Cloud Database Engineer - SQL/Oracle DB (8-12 yrs)

Job Description :

- Manage SQL and Oracle Databases in MPG environment

- Develop standards and procedures for all aspects of Database in the Cloud.

- Identify system enhancement and automation opportunities for installing/maintaining database technologies, building, deploying and monitoring applications as well as alerting and remediating system outages.

- Provide installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting support for database application software both on premises and in the Cloud.

- Work closely with other infrastructure teams to deliver new environments and resolve problems related to existing infrastructure.

- Design, test and support solutions for Disaster Recovery on premises and in the Cloud

- Support for the adoption of DevOps methodology and Agile project management

- Diagram and document database Cloud implementations.

- Provide mentoring, knowledge transfer and assist in training for other members of the database team.

Required :

- Bachelor`s degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.

- Experience with database technologies such as SQL, Oracle in both and IaaS and PaaS modes on Azure cloud platform

- Experience in writing software in one or more languages, such as Java, Python, Go.

- Experience with database administration techniques including storage, clustering, data mirroring, high availability, disaster recovery, security, logging, monitoring and auditing.

- Experience with data migration strategies and moving large scale production systems to cloud.

- Experience with database management tools for backups, recovery, snapshot management, sharding, partitioning and as well as experience with database performance tuning.

- Experience working with cloud databases such as Azure SQL Database, Oracle Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Redis Cache and SQL Server on Virtual Machines

- Experience developing ELT or ETL workflows.

- Strong SQL skills with deep query troubleshooting knowledge such as isolating blocks of poor performing SQL, determining root cause, and developing remediation actions.

- 10+ years of relevant L3 experience
