Technical Writer (2-5 yrs)

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Writing :

- Gather, analyze, and interpret technical information from subject matter experts.

- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including user manuals, tutorials, FAQs, and online help.

- Ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with product specifications.

Authoring Tool Proficiency :

- Demonstrate deep expertise in either Adobe RoboHelp or MadCap Flare.

- Utilize the tools effectively to create structured, modular, and reusable content.

- Leverage the tools features for content management, version control, and publishing.

Content Management :

- Maintain a centralized repository of documentation.

- Implement content management strategies to ensure consistency and accuracy.

- Manage documentation lifecycle, including creation, review, approval, and publication.

Single-Source Publishing :

- Develop and maintain single-source content that can be easily repurposed for various output formats (e.g., print, online, mobile).

- Utilize the tools' capabilities for conditional text, variables, and templates to streamline content creation.

Collaboration :

- Collaborate with subject matter experts, designers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure documentation quality.

- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on technical accuracy.

Project Management :

- Manage documentation projects, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

- Track progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Strong technical writing skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and understandable language.

- Proficiency in Adobe RoboHelp or MadCap Flare, including knowledge of XML, CSS, and HTML.

- Experience with content management systems and version control tools.

- Understanding of software development methodologies and processes. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications :

- Experience with other authoring tools (e.g., FrameMaker, Oxygen XML).

- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python).

- Familiarity with user experience (UX) design principles.

- Experience in a specific industry or domain (e.g., software, hardware, healthcare).
