Senior Officer - Laboratory

Role & responsibilities

• Managing the daily operations of the laboratory

• Developing, and implementing laboratory services

• Ensuring laboratory compliance with regulatory requirements .

• Monitoring and Controlling the laboratory budget

• Responsible for Annual Plan & Budget of CAPEX and OPEX for Laboratory.

• Responsible for Process Safety Management elements and procedures in Laboratory.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

• Ensuring proper usage of analytical resources.

• Conduct regular audits and inspections of laboratory processes and equipment.

• Recommending replacement of spares / consumables for procurement action.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to senior engineers and managers.

• Initiate development activities to enhance the skill levels

• Review & implement compliance related to SOPs, policies, standards and quality systems

• Ensure and address quality issues realted to customer complaints.

• To correct any deviations in the process with respect to analytical requirements.

• Ensure analysis is conducted as per schedule and SOP.

• Responsible for the release of finished products clearance certificate

Preferred candidate profile

• Relevant Laboratory experience of min 17 years in Petrochemicals/Refinery/Fertilizer Industries.

• Proven track record in Lab Setup and commissioning.

• Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.

• Thorough and updated knowledge of IQCM, BIS specification, manufacturing specs and respective test methods and significance of test parameters

• Familiarization with various statutory and Environmental norms.

• Certifications in laboratory management will be added as an advantage.
