A Series C funded startup backed by Info- Edge , Sixth Sense Ventures, Oman India Joint Investment Fund , Akatsuki , Trifecta Capital , Incubate Fund , Gunosy Capital , 9 Unicorns and global family office We are looking for a Finance Controller who will oversee the financial operations of an organization, ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning. This role is vital in managing budgets, analyzing financial data, and supporting business decisions to drive profitability and efficiency.

Reporting To: Founder / Management

Key Responsibilities:

Financial & Governance Leadership:

- Lead all aspects of financial strategy and operations, including budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and grants management. Working closely with leadership, ensuring financial systems are robust, aligned with organizational goals, and enable data-driven decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

- Provide strategic oversight to all financial operations including multi-year budgeting, financial forecasting, scenario planning, and audit readiness

- Design and drive systems to ensure compliance with all statutory regulations (TDS, GST, FEMA etc), working closely with cross functional teams

- Guide and mentor the Finance team to ensure timely and accurate execution of core financial functions (e.g., invoicing, collections, reimbursements, vendor management).

- Partner with leadership to develop financial policies and internal controls.

- Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) to support data-driven decision-making and resource allocation.

- Strengthen and optimize financial systems to build operational efficiency, financial health visibility, and transparency.

Key focus areas:

Business Finance and Treasury Management:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

- Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models

- Analyze financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement

Strategic Financial Support:

- Provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making

- Evaluate financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them

Cash Flow and Treasury Management:

- Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and operational efficiency

- Oversee investments, banking relationships, and funding arrangements

Accounting, Reporting and Compliance:

Accounting and Reporting:

- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements

- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll

- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance

Compliance and Audit:

- Ensure compliance with Companies Act, 2013, IND AS accounting

- Coordinate with external auditors (Big 5) for annual audits and financial reviews

Talent, People & Operations:

- Provide strategic leadership to foster an inclusive, high-performing culture and ensure smooth functioning of the Finance Department.

Key responsibilities include:

- Support a culture of continuous learning, feedback, and engagement through effective

performance management and internal communications.

- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting teams

- Develop team skills and improve departmental efficiency

Skills & Competencies:

- Minimum 10-15 years of overall experience, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role overseeing finance function

- Financial Leadership (Core Focus) Strong understanding of financial operations, strategy, compliance, and risk management.

- Ability to develop and implement operational plans for efficiency in Finance Function
