Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer

Sunbots Innovations LLP, a pioneering tech company dedicated to creating accessible solutions for the visually impaired, is on the lookout for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our SmartOn devices software, including its object detection, currency detection, and text-reading OCR features. Your expertise will directly contribute to providing an impeccable user experience for our visually impaired users, aligning with our mission to empower through technology.

 

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans to identify software issues and their causes, focusing on both automated and manual testing strategies.
• Work closely with the development team to understand product requirements, ensuring that all software meets the highest standards of quality and reliability before release.
• Design, implement, and maintain automation scripts using open-source tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in testing.
• Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
• Analyze test results, document software defects, and report them to the development team, monitoring bug resolution efforts and track successes.
• Ensure that all tested software meets regulatory standards and guidelines, safeguarding user data and privacy.
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies, continuously improving the QA process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a QA engineer, with a strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing, as well as automated testing tools.
• Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) and scripting is a plus.
• Ability to identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively in a team environment and communicating with technical and non-technical staff.
