Software Engineer - Python/Django (3-5 yrs)

JOB SUMMARY :

The Software Engineer will collaborate with the business and technical staff to deliver solutions and improve functionality to facilitate current and future business opportunities using Python and Django framework along with AGILE development methodology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Apply software engineering skills to code and configure applications to support business objectives

- Collaborate with management team to develop, implement and manage software solutions

- Integrate purchased applications and maintain/improve existing software

- Mentor team members by sharing technical knowledge, best practices and standard procedures

- Utilize independent problem-solving skills to develop solutions

- Participate in activities related to agile software development methodologies

Education and Experience :

- Advanced understanding of Linux & Windows-based operating systems

- Demonstrable experience in Agile development environments

- Demonstrable experience working with Python and Django

- SQL (Postgres), JavaScript, React, Celery, RabbitMQ, Django Rest Framework

- Experience working with third party APIs

- Reading and writing to different file types : CSV, XML, XLSX, etc.

- Nice-to-Have : eCommerce, Warehouse/Transportation Management Systems, Docker, C#, VB

- Able to communicate effectively at all levels from warehouse employees to upper management regarding technical and non-technical matters

- Works well independently and in a team environment

- Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

- Strong organizational & time management skills. Must be able to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and change direction on short notice in an effective manner. Do what it takes to get the job done
