The Role:
We're seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Content Developer. The role will be responsible for analyzing source content provided by subject matter experts, creating storyboards and simulations, and designing course modules and units on our learning platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances learner engagement and knowledge retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzing source content provided by subject matter experts to create storyboards and simulations or design directly onto an authoring tool (currently Evolve) or our learning platform (currently Thought Industries)
- Creating standards ('what good looks like') for all content types, and championing them internally
Producing course modules/units on time and on budget and aligning those programs with an overall learning outcomes strategy
- Creating engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances learner engagement, knowledge retention, and transfer
- Designing learning activities, assignments, and assessments where relevant
- Visualising instructional graphics, the user interface, and the finished product where those visual aids are not available through the Central Asset Manager
- Creating supporting material/media for courses (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, transcripts, handouts, etc.)
- Managing and supporting the video production process working with internal/external production teams
- Maintaining all assets and project documentation
- Assuring all processes are followed for learning compliance and audits
- Maintaining the quality of course content during the entire process from storyboarding to delivery - including content writing and proofreading where required
About you:
The ideal candidate will have a track-record in delivering results in a fast-moving business and hence be comfortable with change and uncertainty. Excellent stakeholder management experience is essential to being successful in this role.
Required:
- 5-7 years of experience in instructional design, and content development with an understanding of training and design strategy
- Experience with authoring tools such as Evolve or equivalent
- Experience using LMS tools
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of adult learning theories and their application to learning solutions
- Ability to create concepts and curriculum development for eLearning
- Exposure to various kinds of learning assets in a blended learning program
- Ability to self-manage multiple learning content topics and their deadlines
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Experience managing multiple tasks at once and being able to prioritize your work accordingly and be comfortable with being stretched
- You have sharp attention to detail and are highly organized
- Analytical, with a thirst for continuous improvement
- You're comfortable in a high-growth environment, working at a fast pace and adjusting course regularly
Preferred:
- Experience with native design within a Learning Management System (LMS), ideally Thought Industries
- Experience and/or an interest in Human Resources, Learning & Development, or Organizational Psychology
