Job Description
- Examine, diagnose, and treat various conditions and diseases affecting women s health, such as infections, hormonal disorders, and cancers.
- Perform tests and procedures, such as pap smears, pelvic exams, ultrasounds, and biopsies.
- Prescribe medications and treatments based on best practices and evidence-based guidelines.
- Provide antenatal care, monitor the health of pregnant women and foetuses, and deliver babies using natural or surgical methods, offering postnatal care.
- Conduct surgeries and operations, including caesarean sections, hysterectomies, and tubal ligations.
- Educate and counsel women on family planning, contraception, fertility, menopause, and other women s health topics.
- Refer patients to other specialists or services when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records and documentation.
- Stay updated with the latest developments and research in obstetrics and gynaecology.
- Manage OPD consultations for all hospital patients as a Gynaecologist & Obstetrician.
- Admit and treat gynaecological and obstetrical patients in female wards, casualty, and labor rooms as required.
- Oversee the labor room and conduct rounds, managing post-operative gynaecological and obstetrical patients.
- Order x-rays, ECGs, laboratory tests, and other diagnostic procedures as needed.
- Collaborate and communicate with other medical professionals to discuss treatment plans and ensure high-quality patient care.
- Respond to emergencies by administering gynaecological and obstetrical treatments.
- Proficient in basic cardiac life support techniques and available for emergency calls as required.
- Familiar with all gynaecological and obstetrical procedures and management practices.
- Review medical records and trends, and participate in health and wellness initiatives.
- Attend ward rounds with colleagues and be available to discuss patient treatment plans.
- Provide 24/7 gynaecological and obstetrical treatment within the hospital on-call basis.
- Visit patients as requested by nursing staff or shift medical officers.
- Ensure all treatments are recorded in patient notes and oversee further testing and diagnosis for family members of employees.
- Adhere to relevant acts, rules, regulations, and government orders.
- Perform emergency procedures such as cardiac arrests as per hospital policy.
- Initiate emergency treatments and complete necessary documentation for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Proficiency in Hindi, English, and Gujarati (Preferably).
