Research Assistant Microbiology 3rd Party role (Tata Chemicals Ltd.)

The incumbent would be part of the team and shall help the team in various activities of the lab that will include but not limited to involving in day today lab activity planning, preparation of microbiology medium, keeping ready all the essentials as per the days plan to conduct the planned works, maintaining lab consumables stock, ensuring proper disposal of lab wastes generated, maintaining lab cleanliness, maintain 5S, etc.

Role & responsibilities

Ensuring continuous lab operation through

• Proper stock maintenance of lab consumables and documentation
• Monitoring, maintaining and ensuring continuous functioning of lab equipments/instruments
• Coordinating with internal service departments
• Maintain lab cleanliness and 5S
• Preparation of media, reagents, and keeping ready essentials for day today planned lab work
• May require to do basic microbiology, aseptic techniques like plate making, streaking, slide preparation, staining of slides, monitor growth of microorganisms, record observations etc.
• Regularly monitor and ensure lab safety aspects (Good Laboratory Practice)

Preferred candidate profile M.Sc. in Life Sciences preferably Microbiology

Preferable 1-2 years of work experience in a microbiology/pathology laboratory

Other Desirable Characteristics: • Should possess good knowledge on lab organizational skills • Familiarity in lab documentation • Should be an intuitive and thriving to complete assigned task in time.
