Position Summary

• Oversee efficient freight movement to meet customer demands through dispatching,

supervising, and scheduling pickups and deliveries. We are seeking a talented,

experienced individual to join our distribution company as a Logistics Coordinator/

Trucking Dispatcher. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be involved in order entry, the

timely scheduling and tendering of outbound freight by customer delivery demands,

assisting with corporate sales targets, and ensuring efficient and professional customer

service.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the coordination, scheduling, dispatching and planning of customer freight shipments and ensuring timely delivery of goods. Assist and inform drivers about freight specifics, delivery & pickup schedules and special handling requirements.

• Monitor shipments using the TMS throughout transit to effectively meet delivery schedules. Communication with the customers, shippers and receivers on delivery progress to support them with any issues that may occur and provide timely customer updates.

• Develop daily dispatch plans and manage truck capacity needs and trailer pools. Have the ability to plan, schedule and handle multiple tasks at once. Optimize driver and equipment allocation for efficient customer demand fulfillment. Proactively plan predetermined routes for drivers and identify traffic and weather problems to create appropriate corrective action plans to achieve timely and efficient service.

• Track, trace and update the shipment status daily. Run reports daily to ensure all shipments status are updated/followed-up properly. Communicate effectively with drivers, terminals, customers and co-workers through e-mails, phone calls, the G-Suite and customer specific portals and software.

• Work daily to collect and upload PODs/BOLs and any other paperwork in a timely manner and ensure the system is always updated for timely invoicing. Complete pertinent data entry when required and maintain information on shipments and ensure paperwork required for the release of the cargo is given to the proper personnel.

• Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team-oriented environment with an emphasis on total customer satisfaction. Detail oriented and accurate.

• The ability to adjust to sudden changes in customer demands or operational goals. Perform other duties as requested or assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of prior experience in the logistics and transportation industry
• Familiarity with trucking terminology, PCS software and working procedures
• High School Diploma required. Bachelors degree in Logistics or Transportation
• Management preferred
• A good command of the English language
• Strong phone etiquette and communication skills to effectively assist customers
• Growth-minded work ethic and ability to take on more responsibility with time
• Proactivity and self-motivation with minimal oversight
• Knowledge of transportation planning and fleet management a plus
• Familiarity with GIS and GPS technologies
• Proficient at the Microsoft Office Suite
• Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
